Mythic+ has been a hot topic in The War Within, and it seems the conversation is not dying down anytime soon. With tons of feedback regarding the new affixes, and entire philosophy behind the Mythic+ scene, players are once again voicing their opinions for the new season of dungeons.

During the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, the devs announced a new dungeon centered around the Goblin-themed patch called Operation: Floodgate. Not only that but it was also revealed that The MOTHERLODE!! would also be a part of the Season 2 dungeon roster. That left players wondering what the next two remaining dungeons would be, given that Blizzard also included the four other new dungeons that were added in The War Within expansion.

In a recent interview, the Game Director for World of Warcraft Ion Hazzikostas unveiled the other two dungeons for Season 2. Here is a complete list of the Mythic+ dungeons for The War Within Season 2:

  • Cinderbrew Meadery (The War Within)
  • Darkflame Cleft (The War Within)
  • The Rookery (The War Within)
  • Priory of Sacred Flame (The War Within)
  • The MOTHERLODE!! (Battle for Azeroth)
  • Operation: Floodgate (NEW!)
  • Theater of Pain (Shadowlands)
  • Operation Mechagon: Workshop (Battle for Azeroth)

As mentioned above, the community is torn between the new approach to the Mythic+ scene as a vocal part of the playerbase has actively criticized the new punishing death timer that takes away a whopping 15 seconds on your run on higher keys. Not only that, but affixes have been quite the hurdle the devs can't seem to overcome.

During Dragonflight, a major design problem burdened players, especially given the weekly rotation of affixes which would ultimately diminish the fun and challenging aspects of Mythic+. Especially the Tyrannical and Fortified affixes which were such a pain point that players would skip an entire week due to how difficult they are in conjunction with the damage increase for bosses and trash.

At this time, we do not have any official information on whether Blizzard would look into changing the Challenger's Peril affix, as merely adding 90 seconds to the overall timer does not seem like a proper fix, but a band-aid. There have also been some players expressing their frustration with the Season 2 Mythic+ dungeon pool, either pointing to very deadly mob pulls that will most likely occur in pugs, prompting many to believe that the devs will need to fine-tune the new dungeons added in The War Within.

Ultimately, there is more to come, and with Season 2 coming in 2025, we might expect some surprises and changes to World of Warcraft, should the community continue voicing its concerns over unbalanced content.
