Silent Hill 2 Remake Combat Difficulty Settings

All combat challenges in Silent Hill 2 have three difficulty settings that you can adjust to your liking. Here is what you can expect:

• Light - Enemies deal less DMG, and you're more powerful
• Standard - Opponents deal an average amount of DMG, and your weapons are balanced
• Hard - Enemies have more health, and they're way more aggressive than usual

Although when it comes to puzzles, Silent Hill 2 offers the same three options, you should be aware that you can only select the difficulty at the start of a New Game. Here is what you can choose from:

• Light - Hints are easy to find, and there are clues for all puzzles
• Standard - Hints are more subtle, and the puzzles are more challenging
• Hard - Puzzles are extremely difficult to solve, and clues are hard to discover

As with the combat challenge difficulty settings, it's better to start on Light mode and then gradually climb up the ladder of intensity.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Recommended Difficulty

Even if you have experience with other horror games, the recommended and most commonly used setting for the remake of Silent Hill 2 is Standard. This mode is described as the best one to represent the entire vision behind the release, and even the most seasoned players are having trouble with the Hard setting.

However, if you're having too many issues at the Standard level, there's nothing wrong with going back to Light until you manage to get the hang of the game.

To change the difficulty settings of Silent Hill 2, enter the Gameplay Settings from the General tab. Although you cannot change the puzzle difficulty once you've started the game, you can adjust all other options.
