Stalker 2 - Should You Help Or Attack Squint

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has an incredible main story, but it's not set in stone; players can alter the ending by making major and minor decisions throughout their adventures in the apocalyptic world. One of the most important choices you'll have to make will happen after you meet the NPC called Squint.

Like in most quests and tasks in the game, this encounter will ask you to decide whether you want to help the character or attack him. In this guide, we'll show you the best decision, so you can reach the most beneficial outcome in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Should You Help Or Attack Squint

Sooner or later, you'll begin the quest Needle in a Haystack in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and it will lead you to Squint's situation. You'll quickly discover that he's a Stalker who has killed a few of Captain Zotov's men, so you'll need to find him and get the Ward Sensors. However, the important detail here is that you'll get the same request from Richter as well.

He believes that giving the item to Zotov is a very bad idea and you need to give it to him instead. In any case, your aim is to find Squint and talk to him about the Ward Sensors. This is when you'll have to decide whether you want to attack Squint and loot his body for the Sensors or help him find an Artifact to escape. The good news is that you can get all the items for yourself. Let's take a look!

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Help Squint

First, accept Squint's request to find the Artifact for him and start the mission Piece of Cake. Exit the Windmill and keep following the objective marker. You'll soon see a large area with houses. Enter the one in the far right corner, and you'll spot an entrance to a cave.

Descend and walk forward. You'll arrive in an area filled with Bloodsuckers that you need to defeat. If you don't know how to deal with them, you can click here. Once you've emerged victorious from the battle, go further into the cave and turn left immediately when you get the chance.

You'll find yourself in an anomalous field of acid. Use a Bolt to disable it and activate the Detector to search for Squint's Mold Artifact. Once you have it, go straight ahead into the cave and use the ladder to get back to the surface. Next, return to Squint in the Windmill.

Once you meet Squint again, talk to him and ask him why he didn't tell you about the Bloodsuckers in the cave before you left. That's when you'll be given the choice to hand him the Artifact and allow him to escape. At this moment, the best decision is to attack him. This will allow you to keep the Artifact and loot his body after you kill him to get the Ward Sensors as well. Don't worry about your standing with Zalissya: it won't be affected in any way.
